Frugal Fridays - Simple & Refreshing Sangria Recipe

For the September 7th edition of Frugal Friday,  I've decided to share this wonderful Sangria recipe.  I tried this out a while ago with a friend and it turned out to be deeee-licous!  I know that we are coming to to the close of summer right now, so a refreshing white wine sangria may not be at the top of everyone's beverage choices BUT it is just too wonderful not to share.  Most sangria recipes involve specific liquors, wine and fruit and need to sit for a certain period of time prior to being served.  While I truly enjoy and appreciate those sangrias, I love the idea of being able to make one in minutes (on a budget)!  This sangria only requires 3 ingredients (give or take) and is super duper easy to make.

You will need:

The thing about this recipe is that there are not any specific measurements or steps.  It is completely customizable depending on what you like!  I have tried this a few different ways now and it has been delicious each and every time.

The amount of wine and sparkling flavored water that you use are dependent upon how much you enjoy the flavor of the wine.  When we made this batch, my friend Tina and I filled the glass 3/4 of the way with wine and 1/4 of the way with the sparkling water and it tasted perfect; but, those are our tastebuds & yours may decide on a different ratio of wine to water.

The kind of fruit you choose really depends on the flavor of water that you use for the Sangria.  If you pick up a tropical flavored water, you could add mango and pinapple.  If you decide on a peach flavored water, you could add strawberries & peaches. The list goes on...

You can even try this out with a red wine!  Tina & I made a batch with a Pinot Noir, a blackberry flavored water, fresh berries and she added a little cinnamon (so good)!

The options are really endless!!   I'm interested to hear about the different types of sangrias that are created from this basic Frugal Friday recipe so if your decide to give it a try, let me know how it goes!

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful Friday and have a wonderful weekend folks!

Lots of Love,
Meg
