Frugal Fridays - At Home Pedicure

Happy Frugal Friday!!  For this week's Frugal post, I wanted to try out an at home pedicure.  It is a real treat to go out to a spa and get a pedicure but sometimes, the budget doesn't allow for such luxuries.  When the budget is tight but the need for pampering is high, do not be concerned!  I have found a really wonderful at home pedicure that won't cost much at all but will make you feel like you have had a day at the spa!!  You may need to go to the store to pick up a few of these items but more than likely you will already have the majority of them at home.  Here is how to do your very own at home pedicure...

You will need:

Step One:  Pour equal parts milk and water, a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of coconut oil into a bowl or tub - make sure that the water & milk are as hot as you can stand
Step Two:  Sit and allow your feet to soak for 15-20 minutes
Step Three:  Combine 1/2 cup sugar with 1 tbsp of coconut oil to create a sugar scrub and exfoliate your feet!
Step Four:  Rinse your feet off under warm water
Step Five:  Using the clippers, orange stick & nail file - pamper your toes

Step Six:  Lather your feet with a layer of coconut oil and put on some cozy socks
Step Seven:  Leave the socks on for a while (an hour or so) & allow the coconut oil to moisturize your feet
Step Eight:  Pick out a nail polish and paint your toes!

This at home pedicure is really nice & relaxing.  The lactic acid in the milk is said to help remove dead skin cells from your feet and the honey helps soothe dry, cracked skin.  So if you are in need of some pampering on a budget, take about an hour and a half and try this out!  You will feel super pampered and you can be proud of yourself because you didn't have to spend any money!!

Have a great weekend!

Lots of Love,
Meg
