Fancy Up Your Boxed Mac & Cheese

The other night, Toph and I got home from work and were both super tired but really really hungry.  We wanted to make something delicious but neither of us wanted to invest much time or effort into the whole dinner making endeavor.  We opened up the cabinet to see what our options were and we quickly discovered that we needed to get our butts to the grocery store ASAP.  Our only real option was boxed mac & cheese.  The thought of cooking up some mac & cheese didn't sound very exciting so we started brainstorming ideas of how to fancy up our one and only dinner option.  I found a great recipe on a blog called A Hungry Teacher and decided to try it out! We changed the recipe a little bit and customized it to what makes our taste buds happy. This recipe isn't exactly the healthiest of options but it came out really good!  When all you have is a box of mac & cheese for dinner, this is a great way to fancy it up a smidge!  Here's the recipe...

You will need:

Step One:  Preheat the oven to 425 Degrees
Step Two:  Make the mac & cheese according to the package instructions
Step Three:  Place the mac & cheese into a casserole dish
Step Four:  Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the mac & cheese
Step Five:  Spread the breadcrumbs on top of the cheese
Step Six:  Sprinkle Salt & Pepper on top of the breadcrumbs
Step Seven:  Drizzle the melted butter over the top
Step Eight:  Bake for 20-25 minutes until it lightly browns on the top and the edges start to bubble a bit

Take it out of the oven & ENJOY your fancified mac & cheese!!

Lots of Love,
Meg
