Frugal Fridays - DIY Cat Toy

For this week's Frugal Friday, I tried something frugal and up-cycled!!  I found the idea to make this DIY cat toy on squidoo.com and decided that it was just to simple not to try.  All you need is a toilet paper roll, a pair of scissors and a cat that enjoys playing with toys!

Simply use the scissors to cut into each end of the toilet paper roll creating several tabs.  Once you have finished cutting both sides, bend the tabs back and VIOLA you have yourself an up-cycled & frugal cat toy!

When I put it on the floor initially, the cats wanted nothing to do with it but they have warmed up to it since!  I find it out in the middle of the living room day after day so I am going to take that as a positive review from the felines in my household!

  2. So easy and clever! I'm definitely gonna try this! My kitten loves her handmade toys, the ones from the petstores she's not interested in! (here she is: http://lilyrazz.blogspot.nl/2013/10/a-total-cutie.html) Thank you!
