DIY Projects - Snowflake Ornaments

Good afternoon!!  I wanted to share another one of the great DIY projects that I made last weekend.  We found the idea on a blog called Muffin Tin Mom and I am super glad that we made these!  This DIY is incredibly easy and involves up-cycling which is pretty nifty if you ask me. Another bonus: You will more than likely have the majority of materials needed in your home already!  Here's the scoop...

You will need:

Step One:  Cut the toilet paper roll into pieces (about 1/2" wide) - 6 pieces will create one snowflake
Step Two:  Take two pieces of the toilet paper roll - Place a small bead of hot glue at the end of one piece and press it up against the end of the other piece
Step Three:  Continue using the hot glue to glue the pieces together until you have glued all 6 of them and they are in the shape of a snowflake
Step Four:  Using the sponge brush, paint each piece of the toilet paper roll (inside and out) with the white paint
Step Five:  While the paint is still wet, sprinkle the glitter onto it

**You will find that if you are not painting the pieces fast enough, they will dry and the glitter will not stick.  If you are not the speediest painter (do not take offense to this, sometimes slow & stead is the way to go!), take it one piece at a time.  Rather than painting the entire thing and putting the glitter on after, paint & glitter each piece as you go.

There you have it, a super cute glittered snowflake ornament!!  You can hang this up with ribbon, string or fishing line...whatever you like!  They would make a great ornament on your holiday tree or a really pretty wall decoration for this winter season.  I personally plan to hang them up on our tree as I plan to make all of the ornaments that go up on our tree this year (and am quite excited about this crafty endeavor)!  If you try these out, I would love to know how you use them in your holiday decor!
